Meet Shannon

Shannon's Love of Flowers: Growing up surrounded by the mountains and lakes of the Berkshires, Shannon always loved picking wildflowers in the fields of her backyard as a child. Her grandfather grew and sold gladiolas in her hometown of Pittsfield, MA and her first time selling her own flowers was at the age of seven when she picked her neighbors tulips and set up her own flower stand in her driveway.

Learning to Arrange Flowers: Throughout COVID, Shannon treated herself to "Friday Flowers" - every Friday she bought a colorful mix of flowers from her local grocery story and crafted a seasonal arrangement to brighten her home. During a time that brought uncertainty, stress, and isolation, the flowers brought her peace and renewed sense of creativity.

How Flowers by Shannon came to be: Starting a floral design business was never in Shannon's "plan" (isn't that how life seems to happen?!). Like so many people she had no idea what the next chapter of her life would be, but knew the creative process of arranging flowers and the happiness they brought to others was something she loved. In March 2023, she officially began her business and had no idea how quickly it would begin to evolve and grow!

Flowers by Shannon is more than a full-service florist. We are a team that is committed to building community and connection by spreading love and kindness through flowers. When possible, we source flowers from local flower gardeners and partner with our local and international wholesalers.

About Shannon: Shannon lives in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Cincinnati, OH with her college sweetheart (Matt), their three children (Charlie, Tierney, and Ginger), and their two dogs (Bogey and Bailey). She loves to visit her family in Massachusetts, play tennis, travel, and cook. Her favorite flower is the ranunculus.
